Honor a Veteran Home Repair Contest

Welcome to our Honor a Veteran Home Repair Contest. Midwest Communications is challenging three of their morning show hosts to raise the funds needed to build and install an access ramp at the home of a veteran here in the northland. The contest runs through Veteran's Day (Friday, Nov. 11). The winners will be joining volunteers from the Army National Guard to build ramp sections at TW Wood Design in Superior. The "losers" will be cleaning cages at Lake Superior Zoo. The finished ramp sections will be installed at the home of a Veteran the following day.

Honor a Veteran Home Repair Day 2

Thanks to wonderful friends and family we had the ramp assembled and ready for service by Sunday afternoon! We had wonderful food and fellowship along the way...Northalnd News reporter Billy was a delight. The only sour note was donations... to date we've raised only $130. The materials cost over $3,000. We can't do this kind of work without you.

Honor A Veteran Home Repair Project Day 1

We had a great day at TW Wood Design.  Lots of great volunteers; friends and family of the Visger's, members of the Army National Guard, Wisconsin State Representative Nick Milroy, radio personalities from Midwest Communications, and of course our dedicated weekday volunteers. All fueled by food from V.I.P. pizza.

Hermantown Walmart Service Day

A group from the local Hermantown Walmart braved the cold to help repair a home in Riverside. Employees raised $600 to help pay for materials and worked as a well-oiled unit. We could barely keep up! Team leader Jeremy is committed to serving the community not only at the store but out in the neighborhood as well. Way to go Walmart!  View more photos here!
