Habitat for Humanity teams up with UMD Market Place

UMD Market Place is teaming up with Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity by  hosting the launch of the Habitat 500.  Once again, our dedicated cyclists are gearing up to ride 500 miles in support of Habitat for Humanity.

The cyclists are volunteering their time to support the Habitat mission. Local riders Larry Scanlon and Craig Sterhle will be celebrating their 10th year riding in support of safe, decent housing. Several members of the WLSHFL Board of Directors will also be participating in the ride.

The kickoff event will take place at Kirby Plaza, Wednesday, July 11th  from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.  Riders from the Twin Ports Habitat 500 Team will be on hand. There will be t-shirts for sale with all proceeds going to local Habitat projects focused on flood recovery. Twin Ports Cyclery will be on hand to tune up bikes and make sure everyone is ready for 500 miles of  peddling.
